Scythe Blades

from $65.00

Schroeckenfux in Austria has been manufacturing Marugg Special Grass and Brush blades since the 1940s. We are pleased to offer a full selection of these blades as well as the Fux Post Horn blade.

Grass blades are light and hold a good edge for cutting grasses and non-woody weeds with up to a 1/4 inch diameter stem. They can cut larger weeds but you are more likely to nick the blade if you cut woody materials. With continued peening and wheting they will hold a very fine blade perfect for slicing grasses.

Brush blades are useful for clearing larger weeds and small woody stemmed plants up to an inch in diameter. These blades do not work as well for cutting fine grasses but can also maintain a fine edge when peened and whetted regularly.

Post horn blades are used for clearing large weeds including woody stems up to 2 inches (if you have the strength to swing it). These blades come with an optional blade hook attachment for hooking and pulling stems. They do not work well for fine grasses.

Please be sure to add a collar bracket (separate listing) to your order if you need the hardware to attach the blade to the snath.
