What's a snath? It's the main part of the scythe that connects the blade to the small handles (called nibs). We are snath makers first and foremost and we'd be happy to sell you a snath if that is what you need! Snaths are made of locally sourced hickory which we cut to shape and steam in a building that has seen this work since it was built in 1903! A good snath allows you to work your scythe without overworking your body. We custom cut our snaths to fit you so please make sure to include your personal measurements in your order.
